Hi there! I'm Kelly. I live in north-central Connecticut. I am sixteen and junior in high school. I do both visual art and photography. I dream of one day teaching elementary school.

I have been drawing since I was very little, and I loved to take pictures when I would get a disposable camera every summer. It's no surprise that I love to do those things, still. I do digital photography and visual art.
For my photography I use my Canon EOS Rebel T3. I use the stock lens that came with it, but I have another one that's a telephoto lens. I really want to try a film camera though.
For visual arts, I do a lot of work with graphite and charcoal. I also work with soft pastels, watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencils. I do want to try different things, though.

I'm back from my adventures at CCY

CCY was so amazing. I met so many amazing people. I learned a lot about my art form, and myself. It was the first time I actually got to see that we aren't all as different as we seem. I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting it to be as incredible as it was. I am so, so grateful that I had the opportunity to not only go to this amazing program, but to make so many friends and meet the most incredible people I've ever met. This summer was the best I've ever had and I can't imagine it happening any other way. I loved it there so much. Everything about it was just so spectacular.

I will be leaving this Sunday, June 30th, to attend the Center for Creative Youth. So I am going to be MIA for four weeks. I have pictures in my Sta.sh I can upload from their computers, when I have time, as we are not allowed to bring our own computers/laptops. This program is designed to give us very minimal free time, and keep us busy focusing on our art forms. I am super excited to go, and I am currently in the process of packing. Packing occupies most of my mind right now. I am also excited to improve my art and share with you what I have done during the four weeks. :)

I don't have that long to quickly type out an update but the end of the school year is rapidly approaching. I have several big projects and essays to do in the next week. I have one week of school left before finals and that's exciting.
I loved this school year so much. You have no idea. I had amazing teachers, I met some fantastic people and I feel like I belong there. At my old school no one liked me. And it feels fantastic to be somewhere that people actually like me and are nice and I just love it there.
